According to foreign media, Turkey has bombed 181 Kurdish militia bases in the Syrian northeastern border town of Ras al Ain, with reports of the deaths of 16 members of Kurdish militia.
There are fierce clashes between Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) and Turkish forces in the border region.
A large number of civilians have been evacuated from the area following the attacks by Turkish forces, and locals are moving to safer places.
On Wednesday, the Turkish army and its allied Syrian rebels began advancing to the eastern areas of the Euphrates after the Turkish president announced to launch a military operation and was occupied by the Kurdish organization People's Protection Units (YPG). Skirmishes began in Tel Aviv area.
Mustafa Bali, a spokesman for the Syrian Democratic Forces, says his forces have repelled the ground attack and Turkey has not made any progress so far.
An emergency meeting of the UN Security Council has also been convened today on the current situation in Turkey and Syria, while the Arab League convened its meeting on Saturday.
Iran, on the other hand, has called on Turkey to immediately suspend its military operations in Syria.
In a statement issued by the Iranian Foreign Ministry, expressing concern over civilian casualties, Turkey called for its troops to withdraw from the Syrian area immediately and stop the attacks.
