
Shakib Al Hasan, former captain of the Bangladesh Cricket Team, has been given a two-year ban for his involvement in corruption.
The ICC said in a statement issued on Tuesday that Shakib Al Hasan was found guilty of violating three provisions of the Anti-Corruption Code, which he has also admitted.
According to the ICC, Shakibul Hasan has been banned from playing all forms of cricket and he will not be able to play international and domestic cricket for two years.
2.44 of the provisions of the ICC Anti-Corruption Code, including Shakib-ul-Hassan, were reported by the staff in January 2018, according to which they failed to provide details to the Anti-Corruption Unit. ۔
According to the clause, Shakibul Hasan was invited for corruption and did not provide full details.
According to clause 2.44, in the 2018 IPL edition of the match between the teams of Sun Rise Hyderabad and Kings XI Punjab, they were invited for corruption on 26 April. They did not provide details to the Anti-Corruption Unit.
According to the ICC, Shakibul Hasan has confessed to all the charges and was sentenced to two years. However, if he manages to take the ICC's Anti-Corruption Unit into confidence, he will be able to play international cricket again from October 29, 2020.
Shakibul Hasan expressed his regret over the ICC ban and said he regrets that he failed to give full details to the ICC but accepted the ban.
According to Shakib Al-Hassan, he wants to see cricket free from corruption for which he will be in contact with the ICC's Anti-Corruption Unit and wants the newcomers to make the mistake that they have not made.
ICC general manager Alex Marshall says Shakibul Hasan is an experienced player and has been part of a number of training courses on corruption in cricket. They should have informed the Anti-Corruption Unit regarding the contacts of the statisticians.
According to him, Shakib Al Hasan has confessed to his mistake and assured that he would cooperate fully.
