The crucial match between England and New Zealand, again, was decided in the Super Over

England beat New Zealand in the fifth over of the fifth Twenty20 after an exciting match.

England also won the five-match series by three matches instead of two.

England scored 17 in the Super Over, with the Kiwis scoring eight.

In the fifth Twenty20 match in Auckland, New Zealand scored 146 runs for the loss of five wickets in the first game.

Due to rain, the match was limited to 11 overs per innings. New Zealand's Martin Guptill was the top scorer with 50 runs.
In reply England also scored 146 for 7 in the stipulated 11 overs and the match was closed. Super over was resorted to to make the match crucial.
In the Super Over, England batted first and scored 17 runs in reply to the Kiwis.

It may be recalled that the two-day World Cup final was also tie-up between the two teams, which was made a super over to make a decisive one and it was equalized.

After that, England was declared the winner of the World Cup on the basis of more boundaries.
