A new study has shown that the demand for blood and its components is increasing worldwide, which is unable to meet current blood donations, which has become a major concern in some countries.
In 116 of the 195 countries in the world, blood supply is much less than demand and in many countries there is a crisis. This situation has also been observed in South Asia, all African countries of the sub-Saharan and other countries except Australia and Asia, and there are no available blood, 102, 359, 632 units according to the World Health Organization. Every year, blood donations save millions, and that's why they are considered the pillars of medicine. Worldwide, 100 million units of blood is donated, with 42% of the amount collected in high-income countries, but 38 countries in Africa are far beyond the limits of the World Health Organization. It is estimated that at least 10 out of 1000 people should be given blood, while in those countries there is a severe shortage of blood test test kits. Until now, surveys were conducted on the dangers of blood disorders and diseases, but this is the first work done on blood demand and supply and global context. Our work tells you where the blood shortage is, what the alternative routes are and where to increase donations. Global healthcare professionals can also help with planning and better policy-making. In this statistical model, 20 diseases and conditions that require blood are noted in each country's population. Then it was seen how many percent of the country's population goes through these diseases and diseases.
Blood donation and needs are increasing worldwide. In 2017 alone, 27 million units of blood were donated while the demand was 30 million units. It is believed that there are less than 10 million units of blood this year. In rich countries where blood is needed for cancer, then in a country like Pakistan, Thalesema and Hemophilia require blood donation. They list South Sudan where only 46 out of a million people donate blood and the other is India, where blood donation is very low.
